Day 1 Travel

Day 1

Saturday, October 3, 2015
Dad brought Mom with him and picked up Jan and me at our home at 3:45am.
Our plan was to board the 6am flight.
Neal and Dad checked loads and this one looked like the best one to catch.
Also, if we didn't get on, we'd have a good chance to catch the next one.

Which we did.

We were next in line to board the 6am flight, but it was full before they could call our name.
We had no problem boarding the 7am.

One our way.

We were due to land in Atlanta in 2 hours.
We were early and had to wait in the rain on the airplane parking lot until we could get a gate.

As we waited I noticed this strange phenomenon.

Check this out. Maybe Neal can explain what is happening...

Anyway, we finally arrived at the gate.
Wouldn't you know we were at the end of the terminal.
To try to reach our next flight we had to transfer to a different terminal.
We took the train and then realized our gate was at the very end of the terminal.

We hustled to the gate and only on attendant was there. No one else - it was completely empty.

She said, "Are you on this flight?"

I said, "Yes, my wife and I are listed."

She hurried us on the flight.

All the passengers were waiting patiently for us to sit down.

There were only three seats left. Jan and I took 2 of those.

We were off to Norfolk Airport.

Whew! What a whirlwind...

Did you see the video? ;/

  1. Dad! I didn't know that part about you and mom being the last two to board that last leg! Sounds like a movie! Looking forward to the rest of the trip!
